"Kil(n) Hand, Interior Detail (Interior #1)"
Heather Benning, "Kil(n) Hand, Interior Detail (Interior #1)," 2014, digital C-print, dimensions variable.
In Rural Attractions, Heather Benning presents photographs of her newest site-specific project, Kil(n) Hand, in southwestern Ontario. Benning explored the loss of rural culture by placing 600 resin casts of hands, mainly of local tobacco workers, in a century-old kiln where tobacco leaves were once dried.
