2018 marks our 15th annual Small Treasures exhibition and we are delighted to share this year's collection with you.
This year's collection offers a superb range of beautiful and intriguing sculptural works. These really are "treasures", most of which fit in the palm of the hand. We have works from a range of Inuit communities that stretch across the vast expanse of Canada's arctic. Some of our favourite artists are represented; from Cape Dorset we have new work from Pudlalik Shaa, Toonoo Sharky, Markoosie Papigatok and Ningeosiak Ashoona, to mention only a few. We are also delighted to present work from new sculptors who amply demonstrate that Inuit art continues its strong traditions of creativity. We are particularly pleased to present works from Qikiqtarjuaq (formerly known as Broughton Island), off the coast of Baffin Island, known for their work in ivory. Please note that some works are made from materials that restrict international shipment.
There are fabulous bears, hares and walrus, as well as figures engaged in traditional activities, a dog sled, birds, musk ox and much more. A lot to chose from and something for every taste and budget, so please take your time to scroll through the show and start making your list of favourites.
