Opening: December 21, 2017
As part of TIFF’s sesquicentennial initiative, Canada on Screen, four Indigenous filmmakers and artists — Danis Goulet, Kent Monkman, Scott Benesiinaabandan, and the interdisciplinary arts collective Postcommodity — were commissioned to create VR projects envisioning Indigenous life 150 years in the future. Three of these works premiered at TIFF Bell Lightbox in June 2017, and the remaining works will be presented during the ImagineNATIVE Film Festival in October 2017.
imagineNATIVE in partnership with TIFF and with support of Ontario 150 and Heritage Canada will be touring these special VR commissions to 12 locations across Canada from October 25 through December 21 independently and in conjunction with the imagineNATIVE Film + Video Tour.
Visit the 2167 page for information about the projects on tour.
