Artpoint Studios & Gallery Society would like to invite you to participate in “Artpoint Fundraiser $99 to Stardom”. We are looking to engage with the public, artists, actors, musicians and children in helping us fundraise for community projects. What we need is a piece of original artwork from you! Artpoint will display all artworks in the Main Gallery from July 3 to July 25, 2014. Please join us for an opening reception on Thursday, July 3 from 5-9pm.
How it works: Individuals/participants/artists would donate a 5”by 7” art work, collage, painting, 3d relief, etc. no sculptural pieces, signed on the back so purchaser would not know whose work they are buying. All canvases would be the same size 5”by 7” and all would be priced at $99.00 each. Artworks by children should indicate their age if under thirteen on the back of the painting.
Cost of art materials, canvases, paint, etc., cost to deliver, return work at end of fundraiser is the responsibility of the participants.
On Saturday May 24, Brian Pawlak and Elizabeth Laishley will host a workshop for creating paintings for the fundraiser. If you need ideas or assistance come and join us. Please bring your 5”x7” canvas to work on.
Deadline for artwork submission is June 14th 2014.

Artpoint Gallery & Studios Society, formerly called the Calgary Point of Art Society (1991), was incorporate under the provisions of the Societies Act in 1998. Formed by artists, it is a non-profit artist-run studio gallery supporting and promoting visual arts and art education in the Calgary community. It is one of the largest artist run cooperatives in North America.
Our building in historic Ramsey-Inglewood is home to 23 studios, a resource/classroom and 2 galleries, a foyer and hallways featuring works by over 50 members and visiting artists. Works range from traditional portraiture and photography to contemporary paintings, miniatures and large scale sculptures.
Some studios are open for your viewing and you are welcome to speak with the artists who happen to be working in their studio. New shows open the first Friday of every month, from 5-9pm.
