Opening Reception | April 19, 7-9pm In collaboration with School District 41
Arts Alive 2018 is an annual showcase of student works held in collaboration with the Burnaby School District. Highlighting works by secondary students, this year’s 36th edition presents a selection of artworks from eight schools across the city.
Through an initial process involving teachers, two students’ work is selected from each participating class for the virtual gallery that will also be on display in the gallery and online. From this collection of works, the Burnaby Art Gallery jury then chooses between five to ten artworks to represent the talents of each school in the gallery’s main exhibition space. The result is a collection of work representing the depth, breadth and extraordinary talents of students across the district.
