Ani, woodcut; Blackbird, woodcut; Cormorant, woodcut
On the heels of the 22nd annual Great Backyard Bird Count, Langley printmaker Edith Krause has been counting our fine and feathered friends in a slightly different way. An Avian Alphabet features a series of woodcut prints inspired by alphabetized bird names. Also included in the exhibition are avian prints and paintings by a number of other local artists.
An opening reception will be held March 1st, 7-9pm.
On March 22nd, 7-9pm, the gallery will host a bird talk with Phil Henderson of Strix Environmental Consulting.
A poetry reading and artist talk featuring Edith and several local poets, including Deb DeJong, Heidi Greco, Lee Johnson, Susan McCaslin, Ray McGinnis and Celeste Snowber will be held at the gallery on March 29, 7-9pm. All are welcome to attend all three events.
