The Lantern Festival Celebration of the Year of Snake will take place at the Chinese Cultural Centre on Saturday February 23rd, 2013.
Co-organized by the Chinese Cultural Centre and the Vancouver Hanfu (Chinese Han National traditional costumes) Culture Society, the Festival combines lanterns and Lantern Riddles, which gives participants the romantic atmosphere to understand Chinese poems at a “garden party” setting. The lanterns, whose bottoms contain riddles, will be hung on the trees in the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Park (the free park next to the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Garden), or placed on the side of the road. Participants can pull the riddles out of the lanterns, figure out the answers, and then check the answers with our staff. If the answer is correct, there will be a small reward of the Han cultural commendation issued jointly by CCC and the Vancouver Hanfu Culture Society.
Admission:
$10 for CCC members and Hanfu Culture Society members.
$12 for non -members
