Madrona Gallery is pleased to present its second solo exhibition of new works by Clayton Anderson. Born and raised in West Vancouver, Anderson is known for his expressive landscapes of the B.C. coast, demonstrating a strong understanding of composition and luminescent rendering of light. Inspired by many iconic Canadian painters such as Emily Carr and Lawren Harris, Anderson's work evokes a distinct and visceral sense of place.
Clayton Anderson earned a degree in Visual Communications from the Alberta College of Art & Design between 1984 and 1988. After briefly working in the advertising department of Western Living and Vancouver magazines, Anderson turned to painting exclusively in 1991. Over the past two decades, Clayton's work has found its way into collections throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
