Children see magic because they look for it. — Christopher Moore, writer.
And now, having seen magic, the students from School District 62 are eager to share it with you.
Now in its 11th year, the last seven in partnership with Coast Collective, Collective Voices: A Student Art Show, running from May 29th to June 9th, will feature artwork by high school students from the Sooke School District (SD62). These students, from Westshore, Belmont, and Royal Bay, are in grades 9 to 12, and while some are working towards a future in fine arts, others just want to enjoy the creative experience.
The show will feature approximately 200 works of art in a broad range of media. Awards will be given out in the following categories: Drawing, Painting, 3D/Sculpture, Printmaking and Mixed Media, First Nations, Digital Art & Photography, and Fiber Art and Textile.
