This art contest and showing was brought about due to the high number of federally incarcerated males who have significant artistic abilities. The contest was an opportunity to support these individuals in a healthy and prosocial activity that in return supports their sense of self-efficacy and well-being.

An art showing outside of the institution is a chance for these individuals to reach out into the greater community to share their talents in the hopes of successful reintegration into the community.
