Alanna Sparanese + Lisa Hebden
JANUARY 6 - FEBRUARY 1
Opening Reception Thur Jan 9, 6-8pm
Alanna Sparanese explores 3,000 year old encaustic techniques used by Egyptian and Greek artists. Beeswax, pigment and resin are fused together under a blow torch and buffed to a satin lustre. The resulting images have a dream like quality.
Award winning Victoria painter, Lisa Hebden, works with acrylic on canvas, capturing the essence of winter light. The warm glow permeates the painting with a rich luminosity revealing complex textures within the hedgerow. The Dare leaves us mystified to unravel its meaning.
