Eveline Kolijn"
Artist Demo Saturday April 6, 2019
Over the past two years, Eveline Kolijn has been looking into Calgary's history for several community and collaborative projects. A large-scale woodcut unfolds the history of one of Calgary's lumber mills, the other prints result from a collaboration with Calgary's celebrated author Aritha van Herk, who crafted a story about 11a street in Kensington, where she used to live. It is part of a project between 12 artists and 12 writers. In the suite of prints that came out of the project, Eveline explores the possibilities of combining and recombining visual segments of a story, printing with type and folded shapes.
