“In today’s technologically dominated urban landscape, I fear a time where our heritage and roots will be long forgotten. As time goes on, the passing of loved ones and the connection they represent to my own roots has only served to reinforce this angst. My mission…simple…remind us of where we all came from and rekindle memories of years gone by. Driven by a life-long passion for photography; much of my work focuses on our history and heritage, rural life, and our natural world.
While today’s society moves at an ever increasing pace, its disconnect with both our natural world and our heritage contines to grow. With the passage of time, much of our physical heritage continues to be reclaimed by nature. forgotten and ignored by many, the quiet and subtle beauty found in this sybiosis re-kindles thoughts of yesteryear.”
Feature artist, Al Dixon’s phototgraphy exhibit runs from November 3 to 28, 2015. Opening reception is November 7, 2015 from 1-3pm.
