Footprints
A monoprint is exactly what the word indicates: a one-of-a-kind print. The pieces are created with mixed media, oil painting and ink on paper. The intention of the composition is to explore the marks or impressions left behind by living creatures in nature, such as patterns and textures created by fossils and animal footprints.
Nature
Nature offers us interesting collections. No matter what season we are experiencing, there are always scenes and elements that capture our eyes. The intent of these paintings is to explorenature through the textured interpretation of a birch tree, while capturing a variety of colour backgrounds and textures. The white contrasting with its surroundings through emphatically white-hued barks, stand out in the landscape with the black-scribed trunk of the white birch. It shows a perfect balance between light, colour, depth, texture and motion in each painting. My technique is based on the principle of layers - starting with a lighter background and finishing with a rich or subtle texture using a mixture of brushes and palette knives to sculpt the bark or leaves.
