Here + Now is a selection of contemporary Canadian artworks from the University of Saskatchewan Art Collection. This exhibition looks at important and critical artists who have been influential in contemporary art in Canada. Curated by Leah Taylor
ARTIST TALK WITH WALLY DION
Thursday, February 8th at 12:00pm in the Kenderdine Art Gallery
In conjunction with the exhibition Here + Now, artist Wally Dion will deliver a talk on his current artistic practice. Dion is a Saskatoon-born artist who currently lives in Binghamton, New York. Dion utilizes new materials such as computer circuit boards to create sculptural works that investigate past and present meanings of traditional indigenous star-blanket patterns.
Dion holds a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Saskatchewan (2004) and an MFA in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design (2013).
