Inuit Masterworks: The Robertson Collection
Opening Reception June 22, 1 - 4 pm
Started by John and Mary Robertson in the 1950's, this collection features some of the most prominent Inuit artists to date, including John TikTak, Nelson Takkiruq, Pauta Saila, and many more.
This collection was further developed by their son John and his wife Clara, who continued the family’s legacy of promoting Inuit art. Through their efforts, Inuit carvings were introduced to regions of the world which had never seen this type of art before.
This incredible collection features pieces that have been displayed in some of the world's most prestigious museums, including The Pushkin Fine Arts Museum, Moscow; British Museum, London; The Hermitage, St. Petersburg; National Museum, Copenhagen; Le Grand Palais, Paris; and others.
