Scott Gallery presents a dual show of new works from Jacques Clément & Yuriko Kitamura. This exhibition fuses together two artists who use their own diverse backgrounds and multiple mediums to create a distinct collection of nudes and landscapes.
Montreal artist Jacques Clément deftly uses pastels to create a balance in his nudes between line, form, softness and energy. His landscapes, all works on canvas, portray the idyllic Quebec landscape.
Edmonton artist Yuriko Kitamura’s figurative ink on paper works, inspired by Japanese calligraphic line, reveal the complexity and beauty of the human figure. Her watercolour landscapes on rice paper depict the Alberta Rockies and bring together both her Eastern background and Western training.
