Under the Influence, Art Exhibition & Sale by Jordan Miller & Dave Swiecicki
This exhibition is about growth, change and outside influences. What happens through experience, incident or accident appears in our art. Through collaboration, we have brought together our ideas which we leave as a mystery for our viewers to comprehend. How does our art inspire or influence you? Over 60 pieces of visual art will take viewers out on a journey in time, space, and deep thought.
A public reception will be held with the artists in attendance on Thursday, September 27, 7-10pm
For special events such as "Meet the Artists" for Culture Days on Sunday, September 30th from 12-5pm and First Friday, October 5th, 12-10pm, both of the artists will be in attendance. The main gallery and classroom studio as a theatre set up) will feature the works by Jordan Miller and Dave Swiecicki The art exhibition is free to attend.
**Not only is there an art exhibition and sale but a short film project was produced by this couple, where a small fundraiser component will be showcased to help raise funds for Jordan Miller's diabetes care. Dave Swiecicki is an artist, musician, photographer and video artist living and working in Winnipeg. Even while immersed in music for more than a decade as keyboardist and guitar player for Winnipeg hard rock outfit Jet Set Satellite, Dave Swiecicki’s sense of composition, atmosphere and texture conjured rich, cinematic visuals possessing both resonant subtlety and moving drama. The camera is his main instrument of choice although he explores in paint, image transfers and mixed media.
Dave’s unbridled passion to be creative has driven him to spend endless hours in the studio creating an impressive portfolio with a breathtaking visual aesthetic inspired by everything from the films of Stanley Kubrick to the print design of Saul Bass.
**As a special note: Throughout our exhibition, funds raised from our video / art performance project and art purchases, money will be used to support Jordan’s ongoing medical needs in supporting type one diabetes. Its her dream to one day have an insulin pump and wear a CGM for tighter diabetes control.
