MARCH OF THE FAE – ANDREW MILLAR
Rustling and bustling something this way goes, always watching but never seen.
Spirits of nature ever so close, from forest meadow to mountain stream.
Finding and fixing Gaia’s woes, searching and guarding the in-between.
SECOND SKIN AND OTHER ANECDOTES – JEFF CRUZ
The images in this series were produced using found slides from Cruz’s childhood, originally created by the artist’s father. Selected slides were then projected onto objects and documented. The projections represent the characters of the story, while the objects were chosen as a cultural metaphor. Slides are intentionally out of focus to depict the diluting of one’s culture. Each photograph is accompanied by text which chronicles the story. In each of the ‘anecdotes’ that make up the work, Asian upbringing blend with Canadian identities to highlight challenges faced when creating a bi-cultural existence.
