When I Can No Longer Lay Waste to What is Already Ruined: Part One - These Things Happen

Born in 1970, in Winchester, England, Martin & his family immigrated to Canada only five years later. Bennett graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 1992 & since has exhibited across North America & Europe. This extensive body of work is a reflection of Martin’s formative years in Calgary & the rich characters that had an immense influence on his life’s path & artistic career.

Today, Martin primarily divides his time between Canada, England & Italy. His works can be found in the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Glenbow Museum, RBC Financial & many more. Martin is represented by Birch Contemporary in Toronto, Wilding Cran Gallery in L.A, and Jarvis Hall Gallery in Calgary.

This is Martin’s first solo exhibition in Calgary since January 2011, therefore we hope you will join us in celebrating the event & this pivotal body of work. A special thank you to Martin for his contribution of the booklet & poster that is to accompany this exhibition.

The Calgary Member Galleries of the Art Dealers Association of Canada will be hosting a Spring Gallery Hop on May 11th from 11 am to 6 pm.

The Gallery Hop will include brief talks at each location by leading artists, curators and critics as well as refreshments at each location. This event has grown over the years to host crowds of people who have become knowledgeable about the local visual art scene. Join us for a fun and informative day of art!
