Master Strokes: Dutch and Flemish Drawings from the Victoria and Albert Museum is showing over 80 works from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries, this exhibition includes works by Rubens, van Dyck and Rembrandt.
Master Strokes highlights the diverse interests and innovative drawing techniques of 17th-century Golden Age artists, contrasting and comparing the subjects and styles of artists working in the northern Dutch Republic and Spanish-controlled southern Netherlands during the 17th century. The exhibition also explores the influence of 16th-century artists on their Golden Age successors and the enduring impact of 17th-century artists on Dutch and Flemish art in the following centuries.
Master Strokes is the first exhibition to present this remarkable and hitherto little-known collection to a wide audience.
Organized by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. Presented at your AGA with the support of Capital Powered Art, an exhibition series sponsored by Capital Power Corporation. Supported by Artist Patrons: Leon & Vonnie Zupan, Allan & Marianne Scott.
