Releasing pain, frustration and stress through artistic expression is the focus of this talk, slide show and discussion. From firsthand experience, you will see how art has the capacity to enhance the life and life experiences of those living with arthritis and other chronic diseases.
Otto is an accomplished ceramic artist, community volunteer, and an Emeritus member of the Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) at the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada. He has spoken nationally and internationally on art & health issues to audiences of students, artists, health professionals and the general public. Otto is using his year-long residency to explore and create a body of work related to his health and how it has affected his own body and the world around him. His goal is to create a conversation about what art and health care can offer one another.
He invites people to stop by his studio located in the Port Moody Arts Centre to talk about clay or health, listen to or tell stories, laugh, learn, be inspired, or just to say hello.
