In paintings exploding with life, spirit and motion Prameesha Abeysekera explores the dance of light and shadow, using expressionism to breathe to life the story of horses that have touched her. The paintings vibrate with energy and movement, molded with her hands, ink and mixed media.
A very tactile person, Prameesha paints with her fingers dipped in ink and other water based media. She is inspired by the magical interactions within her medium as well as her subject,- horses which holds a special place in her heart.
Prameesha Abeysekera lives and works in Calgary, Alberta. This is her first solo show. Being raised with horses in Sri Lanka, Prameesha connects her paintings to stories of horses she has known, making every painting a personal tribute to the freedom and wildness they make her feel.
