Spring is inching closer, the days are getting longer, and it's time to get out and celebrate the start of a new season with our first art opening of 2018! Ron and Jessica Hedrick are a phenomenally talented father/daughter painting duo and we're very proud to present their upcoming joint show.
Ron Hedrick
Ron's early work was noticeably influenced by fellow Canadian Tom Thompson's stunning colors and heavy impasto oils. As his craft developed, his individual style began to take shape. His work is now recognizable with its bright, sunlit colours and spontaneous, confident brushwork. Ron is constantly exploring new concepts in light, colour, and form and his works range from studio and plein-air landscapes to nostalgic figures and still life. Since moving to Kelowna, Ron has been studying the amazing light and landscape of the Okanagan Valley.
Jessica Hedrick
From an early age Jessica had a passion for art and enjoyed the challenge of expressing her world views to others. Her talents thrived growing up under the mentorship of her father Ron and she spent her high school and university years learning to enjoy the creative process and expanding her concepts of art. Jessica's impressionist style leads her to paint from life, whether it be models in the studio, outdoor painting in the mountains, or still-life. She has developed a sincerity of light and colour with loose brushwork, tools she uses to express her inspirations to the world.
