Lynne Green's distinct mixed media painting evolved naturally from her many years of work as a professional goldsmith and jewellery designer. Her paintings are accented with 24K gold and, at times, with a variety of handcrafted pigments mixed with ground malachite, lapis lazuli and other semi-precious gems. She also makes use of many recycled items such as sterling silver, copper, brass, steel, rusted metal, wood, linen and silk, and cotton fibers.
Green has long been fascinated by the natural forms of her landscape surroundings, having spent many years in North and West Vancouver. Her work reflects this passion for natural forms. Currently, her paintings, sculpture, printmaking and commissioned work incorporate her knowledge of the subtleties of colour to evoke nature's harmonious contours. Her work is in several corporate collections and has been collected by people from all over the world, including Australia, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
“I've always been captivated by the ever-changing quality of my environment. I interpret the essence of light merging into shadow. The use of 24K gold with multi-layered glazes of water and oil media communicates the rich fluidity of the scene.” - Lynne Green
