Tom Gale is an expressionist landscape painter whose work evokes an emotional response which fills the viewer with a sense of familiarity. Intuitively perhaps, the viewer recognizes the binary opposition Tom is relaying, "a tension opposes two very different narratives" within his work. On the one hand, Tom's paintings express his spiritual oneness with the earth. Conversely, they express the isolation of his conscious being from his environment".
