Winnipeg-based artist Brian Hunter unveils a bold new series of oil paintings that marks a departure from his previous work. Created in response to a shifting and uncertain atmosphere, the collection is both an escape and a reflection—dark yet vibrant, fast and intuitive. Figures emerge and dissolve within layers of colour, offering glimpses of form amidst abstraction. Hunter is a former winner of the RBC painting competition and currently works as a detective for the Winnipeg Police Service.
