Haughton paints the Vancouver shoreline: mountains, clouds, beach volleyball, sunsets – and a froth of sea planes, sailboats, and windsurfers; ships slowly rotating on their anchors. He returns frequently to certain locations – Strathcona, Ambleside, Spanish Banks and the Second Beach pool – capturing shifts of viewpoint and lighting.
