The ACT Arts Centre, in consultation with the City of Maple Ridge, is inviting proposals for a site-specific semi-permanent window art installation. The artwork is to be installed in the front-facing window façade in the lobby of The ACT building. This artwork will mark the 20th anniversary of The ACT’s opening to the public in 2003.
Proposed artworks must consider the architecture of the front windows and be constructed in a way that can be removed and re-installed around scheduled film shoots in the building.
The first phase of the artist call will collect initial proposals for the site-specific artwork. During the second phase, select artists will be short-listed by a panel with artistic and logistical expertise. Shortlisted artists will be paid a fee to further develop their proposed artwork into a more detailed project plan.
The intention of this artwork is to create an inviting and welcoming image for the front of The ACT building, and to further demonstrate The ACT’s reputation as the central arts and culture provider in the City of Maple Ridge.
