In this edition of Art Connects, the Gallery invites Ken Lum to speak about his artistic practice. The renowned Vancouver-born artist will take a look back at a selection of his works in the Gallery’s permanent collection and reflect on his first career retrospective, presented at the Gallery in 2011.

We will also hear how Lum has been coping during the pandemic while living in the United States. As Lum has written in a featured essay in Canadian Art, “[i]t is through art that I am constantly challenged to understand the world and my place within it, even if that place is one that I am not entirely at home in.”
