Arts Alive 2017 Invitation

Since 1982, the Burnaby Art Gallery has been providing opportunities to young artists in the community.  Arts Alive’s 35^th anniversary falls in line with the BAG’s 50^th anniversary, the City of Burnaby’s 125^th and Canada’s 150^th.

In celebration of community during this special year, teachers were invited to involve students in group projects on the theme of ‘Place & Home’. Over 1200 students from 40 classes in 16 elementary schools participated this year. With the focus on community celebration and class collaboration, all 40 works submitted have been accepted in the show. In addition to the exhibition onsite, an online exhibition of the art work will be available for viewing on the BAG website. Arts Alive 2017 opens on April 18 and runs through May 21.
