Truck Contemporary Art in Calgary & Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers, "Bike-In Cinema," 2018
Join CSIF - The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers, Truck Contemporary Art in Calgary, and the creatures that call Calgary’s parks home for a night of outdoor cinema in Sunalta Park (located across from the Sunalta LRT Station and next to the Sunalta Community Hall)!
At sundown we will be screening the short film CAVE SMALL CAVE BIG, directed by Joële Walinga, as well as the feature film BUGS, directed by the artist duo Life of a Craphead. This event is free and open to all members of the public; iron your antenas, bike in, and chill out!
CAVE SMALL CAVE BIG (2016) - Joële Walinga, 11 min
CAVE SMALL CAVE BIG is the first in a series of short films written by children. In this story, by 5-year-olds Madeline Harker and Adelaide Schwartz, we follow a Butterfly Girl's journey through inspiration and loss, and veer away to follow the lost object itself. The film jumps from character to character as they cope with the transience of ownership.
BUGS (2015) - Life of a Craphead, 74 min
Featuring situations like a university lecture gone wrong and a failed SNL episode, BUGS presents the absurdity of life within a patriarchal society obsessed with success. The DIY film sets the Bug universe right in the middle of the real world, creating multiple layers of reality that interact with each other. Produced over 2011-2015 with a large cast and crew of artists and comedians.
TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary is dedicated to creating safe and inclusive spaces for participating in contemporary art. TRUCK programming is free to attend and open to all. www.truck.ca
