Spring Opening and Artists Discussion: Saturday, April 22, 2023
Camille Georgeson-Usher will develop a public artwork based on her research into traditional routes and plant life of Galiano Island, BC to be installed on the exterior of the Open Space building. Until it Swells will focus on the prioritization of local plant life that takes space back from invasive species and allows passersby to imagine smaller steps of what this might look like in the short term, such as helping in their day to day lives to remove invasive plants like Scotch broom (cytisus scoparius).
In Residence: April 17-29, 2023
Installation of Public Artwork: July 2023
This project is presented as part of the 2023 series Wayfinders, the ones we breathe with.
