This year’s Cartae Open School participants’ practices orbit themes of space, place and memory. As a group they have engaged in critical dialogue surrounding identity, trauma and vulnerability. The juxtaposition of their work in the exhibition parallels the tensions within and between their personal narratives. Together the work forms a resonant chorus of associations that complicate social landscapes.
