Paul Kuhn Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of new paintings by Calgary artist Cassie Suche. Suche continues her investigation into process driven work, building on past explorations in which she used hand-made tools to manipulate thick layers of paint. In this new body of work, she evolves these strategies by emphasizing the abrasive removal of material as central to her painting process.
Suche writes: "This body of work explores the physicality of paint and its sculptural qualities. Material is layered, scraped, carved, and sanded back. With the process I'm using, the imagery is less planned than it is uncovered."
The exhbition runs until August 30, 2025 with a pause in mid-July when the gallery is open only by appointment.
