Chi Cheung Lee, "Woven Half Moon Brooch
sterling silver, hematite and white pearls
Chi’s distinctive designs in her Woven Series are inspired by the strength of Chinese calligraphy and the contrast of soft moving metal. The lost-wax casting process is used for this collection which involves first carving a model in wax and then casting it in Sterling Silver. Pearls and/or precious and semi-precious stones are then added.
Chi Cheng Lee is a graduate of New York’s Parsons School of Design. Her artistic journey began at home with her father, a painter of Chinese watercolours on silk, and progressed to her working at 5th Avenue luxury jewelry house Harry Winston for over 18 years. Chi has accumulated a lifetime of cross-cultural experience and exposure to differing design languages. Having previously resided in 18 different residences world-wide, she has finally found her true home working from her Studio-In-The-Woods in West Vancouver, Canada.
