Calgary-based designer Chris Kuzmanovich has been painting as a self-reflexive practice for most of his life, and exhibiting increasingly over the last ten plus years. A balance of light and dark, heavy and light, his formal abstracts often contain references to architectural forms and places, and act as an anchor, tying them to a particular moment in his personal history. His exhibition 50 chronicles his emotional and mental progression as it occurred in the months leading up to his turning fifty.
