Christmas in the Country 2019 has been extended through December 21, 2019!

Over 2500 pieces of fine craft and unframed artworks by local artists fill the museum and galleries of the historic Leighton home this November and December, in perfect time for purchasing seasonal gifts and getting into the Christmas spirit. Beautiful decorations and the home's historic ambiance combine to make this special event a memorable part of your family's season. Discover over 100 talented artists and find truly unique gifts for your loved ones at this annual art sale.

The Most Beautiful Art Tour in Alberta - Showcasing the natural and artistic beauty of southern Alberta, all within a 45 minute drive from Calgary, eight Foothills artists and art organizations on the southern outskirts of Calgary come together to host “The Most Beautiful Art Tour in Alberta”. The beautiful environment and fascinating history of the area has inspired many of the artists whose works the tour features.

From the Millarville area, through Turner Valley to Black Diamond and on to Okotoks, along HWY 22 (The Cowboy Trail) and HWY 2A, four galleries - Leighton Art Centre, Bluerock Gallery, Lineham House Galleries, and Okotoks Art Gallery  - and four artists’ studios - Kristoferson Studio, Mady Thiel-Kopstein, Eversfield Ceramics, and Firebrand Glass Studio - periodically arrange to be open the public simultaneously.

November 30th, you are invited to join in and come for a holiday season tour of our galleries and private artist studios located in the stunningly beautiful foothills of southern Alberta! We're making merry with open houses at our artist studios and special events and activities at our galleries... and making available lots of beautiful, locally handmade art and fine craft, perfect for holiday gifting!

This is a self-drive tour. Admission to each venue is free.
