Jennifer Weihmann : In Between and the Resolve
Jennifer Weihmann is a Calgary-based nature lover and emerging photographer. Her extreme close-up images of decomposing leaves, mushrooms, moss sprouts, and petals harken back to a childlike wonder in the smallest of details. Beguiling in their intricacy and scale, Weihmann’s photos have often been mistaken for paintings, their lush textures and subtle colours offering us the opportunity to get lost in the detail.
Originally from Grande Prairie, Jennifer Weihmann completed a Visual Arts Diploma from Grande Prairie Regional College prior to obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Visual Studies and Art History from the University of Calgary. Her work has been exhibited in Grande Prairie, Calgary, Pittsburgh, and Venice and featured in Azure Magazine, The Calgary Herald, and on CBC Daybreak Alberta.
