Half Your Life In Transit
“If you take care of the moments, the years will take care of themselves. ” – Maria Edgeworth
Everyone is always in a hurry it seems. We as a society are focused so much on the future and so eager to get there that I fear most of us are not enjoying the journey along the way. The goals we hope to obtain overshadow the fact that life is happening right now.
Taking a step back in time to look at life without the technology we now have at our fingertips is a calming process and helps give context to the ever-changing modes of communication and travel. The immediate becomes impersonal and looking ahead means not being in the present. In this process I have embraced the spirit of retrofuturism, when advances in science and technology meant improving our lives without the risk of alienating ourselves from one another.
