Circle Craft Christmas Market 2021
The Circle Craft Christmas Market will return for its 2021 edition, November 10-14 at the Vancouver Convention Centre West. Following its 2020 hiatus, this beloved Vancouver tradition will feature 200 artisans (over 40 new this year): clothing designers, potters, jewellers, wood and metal workers, glass blowers, candle and soap makers, and more! A Vancouver tradition for nearly five decades, the Market kicks off the holiday shopping season in the city.
The 2021 Market will feature Canadian artists from coast to coast: BC craftspeople from communities such as Salt Spring Island, Osoyoos, Fort St. John, Denman Island, North Vancouver, Revelstoke, Victoria, Penticton, and Vancouver will showcase the very best of this province. Artisans will also come from as far as Montréal, Toronto, Calgary, Winnipeg, Halifax, Milo (AB), Moose Jaw (SK), Cowansville (QC), and more!
This year's exhibitors include Market favourites Boreal Folk Apothecary (natural skin care products), Wee Woollies (children's apparel), Matthew Freed Pottery, Dinh Bá Design (women's clothing), Big Bear + the Wolf (wooden home décor), Chi's Creations (fine jewellery), and April Lacheur Art (acrylic paintings). New exhibitors include Voyager Art & Tile (handmade decorative tiles), Indigenous Nouveau (traditional Métis beadwork), RECVRD Candle Co. (100% soy candles in recycled beer bottles), Naked Sage Design (handcrafted jewellery), DOME' by MO (leather clothing and accessories), Inspirational Glass and Metal Art, and Knotty Wood Design (wood furniture and art).
The Circle Craft Christmas Market attracts tens of thousands of people eager to discover the creations of hundreds of Canadian artisans, all of whom are jury-selected based on talent and diversity. In addition, visitors will find artisan demonstrations from potters Gordon Hutchens and Cathi Jefferson on the pottery wheel and the ever popular Gourmet Alley.
Formed in 1972, Circle Craft is a BC-run artist cooperative dedicated to providing opportunities for craftspeople to connect with the community. Attendees will find members of Circle Craft exhibiting at the Market. They can also learn more about the cooperative itself at the Circle Craft booth. The booth will feature a gallery of handmade work by the cooperative's members, who are among BC's finest and most elite craftspeople. The first Circle Craft Christmas Market took place in 1973 at The Cultch. The Market has always retained its unique character and mandate to showcase high quality craft via the artisans themselves.
