Connections - Our Home and Native Land, Invitation

Our country is rich in history, and much has happened in 150 years. As Canada celebrates the 150th anniversary of confederation, the Ruberto Ostberg Gallery has invited artists to reflect on the Canadian experience and how they see Canada for the upcoming “Connections - Our Home and Native Land” exhibition opening June 16^th, 2017.

The Ruberto Ostberg Gallery was established in 2004 with a focus on creating a welcoming gallery space showcasing original contemporary art. For the last decade the gallery has been hosting “Connections” their annual summer juried group community exhibition. Giving this inviting neighbourhood art gallery the opportunity to connect with the local Calgary art community, while showcasing a diverse range of artists and mediums.

This year’s theme “Our Home and Native Land” is sure to present a wide range of Canadian perspectives. The opening reception for this show will be held on June 16^th from 5-9pm and will be on exhibition until July 8^th, 2017. “Connections - Our Home and Native Land” will conclude, with the gallery’s annual artist-run pancake breakfast Saturday July 8^th from 9am – 11:30am. This breakfast event has proven to be a very popular, averaging 600 pancake lovers yearly!
