Dana Roman, “On The Top Of Goat Mountain #1 (Sunshine),” no date
graphite/paper, 7.5 x 7.5 inches (courtesy of the gallery)
Dana spends much of her time in the mountains, skiing, hiking, scrambling, backpacking, and occasionally climbing. The overwhelming beauty of the mountains inspires her art, whether abstract, semi-abstract, or realistic. She believes her paintings should be viewed as visual poetry and affect our senses and emotions.
Dana’s latest pieces are the black and white drawings of her beloved mountains. She is drawing them with many important details, using her own photographs and fast sketches.
Her work is also found along the Art In Nature walk along the Bow River in Banff from 1 July to 30 September, 2024.
