David Pacholko, "Moments Remixed," 2018
Opening Reception: Wednesday, November 7, 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Each work represents a specific moment, simplified and combined with David Pacholko’s love of colour, it re-captures a fleeting moment, vista or experience gone by. These paintings are a reflection of Pacholko’s emotional connection with colour, light and energy in recounting his surroundings and experiences. Pacholko approached this series of work inspired in part by a recent trip to Mexico and driving across Canada. Each canvas takes on an energy and direction of its own with no script, as it comes from a moment remixed.
Inter/action: Sunday, November 18, 3:00 - 4:00pm
For this month's Inter/action, David Pacholko will perform a live demonstration of his painting processes. Pacholko will go through a step-by-step sequence, demonstrating how he prepares his canvases, the process of building up the background texture and colour, and how he adds the final layers of colour. With over a decade of experience in the graphic design industry behind him, David started his design studio in 1999 – David James Design, and ventured forth to provide clients with strategic graphic design, illustration and public art projects. He is a Award Winning Designer/Illustrator, with numerous international and national design awards to his credit along with 10 public art competition projects. 10 years ago, David began to explore his fine art side and started his journey of producing large and small scale mixed media abstract artwork. Since then he has exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions throughout the lower mainland and today he splits his time between his graphic design and mixed media work.
