The Centre d’arts visuels de l’Alberta is pleased to invite you to the opening of the collective exhibition, DEVENIR, which unites the work of Albertan artists Karen Blanchet, Doris Charest, Sabine Lecorre-Moore, Patricia Lortie and Danièle Petit. The opening night will be October 20th at 7pm and will be accompanied by a presentation of the artists. This exhibition will take place in CAVA’s Espace Exploration (Exploration Space), dedicated to the explorative works of local artists and artists from abroad.

Devenir puts into the question the way in which a work of art is created and how art develops from one state to another in order to become living art.

Each artist has their own relationship with their work, which the artists of Devenir reveal to us through their mobiles. The mobiles further show the way in which cognitive processes lead to artistic expression.

The creative process remains a mysterious space in which methodology is at times difficult to clearly describe. Through this presentation, the artists of Devenir propose explanatory paths in order to illustrate the birth of this process through their moving sculptures, 5 mobiles and pictorial works. The mobiles illustrate the process of creation and the paintings, the fruit of this artistic path.
