Crowsnest Pass Public Art Gallery 14733 20 Ave, Crowsnest Pass, Alberta T0K 0E0
OPENING RECEPTION MARCH 23, 1-3 PM
The word ‘ekphrasis’ denotes a rhetorical device whereby one medium of art is created to relate to another medium of art. Usually ekphrastic poetry is created to respond to a piece of art.
Fibre Art Network has put a distinctive spin on this process by inviting 12 well-known Canadian poets to contribute a poem of their choosing. Each of the twelve poems has been interpreted by four Fibre Art Network members in a wide range of styles. The Ekphrastic exhibition is a unique showcase of the collective talents of these Canadian poets and fibre artists.
