Artist Statement:

The Burnt Trees Project is a visual documentation of photographs, design and installation showing the lifelessness and regrowth since the 2005 fire in Kootenay National Park. The destruction along Highway 93 inspired an awareness for how interesting damaged trees could be. The images produced in our four season collective reveals a panorama, depictions of new growth and the surrounding landscapes.

Partnership:

Brad and Ellis have worked together for more than 15 years collaborating on many projects. Brad specializes in video and design while Ellis is the photographer. It has been a rich and meaningful relationship capitalizing on our ideas and commitments: Afrikadey!, Minkha Sweaters, Calgary Public Art, and many more. With contrasting skills we have been able to expand on our artistic abilities.
