Ron Bolt: From Coast To Coast To Coast
to
Loch Gallery Calgary 314 12 Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta T2R 0H2

Ron Bolt, "Morning on the Rim," 2019
oil on board, 36" x 48"
From Northumberland County where he lives and works, to the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, to Alaska, the Yukon and the high Arctic, Ron Bolt's work spans the three coasts of our country. In this collection, through memory and photographic reference, Bolt retraces 50 years of travel.
“What I saw are places I thought could never change due to commercial and industrial development, or global warming and pollution. I was wrong. Like many of us I watch with growing alarm the degradation of our environment. We are quite possibly living in the twilight of the natural world as we have known it. In that regard these paintings are an act of preservation. I can’t save the world single handedly, but I can preserve memory."
Loch Gallery will be featuring Bolt's work in both Toronto and Calgary. The artist will be present in our Toronto gallery on Saturday, September 21st from 2-4pm. Join us in welcoming Ron at 16 Hazelton in Toronto, or visit us in our new location in Calgary at 314 - 12th Avenue SW to see more of Ron's new paintings.
