Heather Dawn Kemp is an Alberta artist with formal training in Ceramic Arts receiving her Diploma of Fine Arts with Distinction from Alberta College of Art and Design in 1996.
She has painted since she was a child in grade school and currently is oil painting full time. Heather is passionate about painting from life; models, still life and plein air (in the open air) this is where she gleans inspiration for her work which often carries themes about everyday life, love, healing, compassion and emotion.
“Heart” is a collection of new paintings portraying figures, portraits and other subjects which are an exploration of the hearts’ influence on our emotions, its power and vulnerability and the idea that emotions can be influenced by our surroundings, images and our thoughts.
