The Leighton Art Centre brings creative expression and artistic engagement alive for diverse communities in Calgary and surrounding rural areas. Artist and architect A. C. Leighton was a mentor to Alberta’s most celebrated artists from Walter Phillips, H.G. Glyde and Maxwell Bates to Marion Nicholl. The Centre, created by artist Barbara Leighton in 1974, seeks to bring that creative nurturing to a broad public at a high level of artistic expression. The Centre sits on an 85 acre Foothills promontory overlooking the Rocky Mountains. For driving directions please visit our website.
